Electronics, Engineering and Industrial Production Sector
The Electronics, Engineering and Industrial Production Sector represents workers in a variety of companies ranging from small long established enterprises to multi-nationals employing several thousand people manufacturing technologically advanced products.
The car industries in the UK and Europe are highly important to the Sector. Many smaller Irish manufacturers supply a wide range of parts for all of the major car companies including Toyota, Nissan, Ford, and Mercedes.
The majority of workers in the Sector are highly skilled, well trained and have often succeeded in retaining their jobs in Ireland in the face of stiff competition from manufacturers based in other countries.
